Squid / Calamari Roast
Squid , prawns and mussels are the seafood's that i adore, but i don't have a great deal of knowledge about apart from relishing their intense and unique flavors. It is hard for me to control over eating either of these. And lucky me these are my Mr.'s favorite too.
And this one was directly cooked on the same day when we bought it from the market, so the flavor was superlative. If you are a squid lover this is a must try and it goes well with white rices and any kind of rottis & pathiris
Squid / Calamari - 400 g
Chilli Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - As required
In a pressure Cooker, add above four with 1/4 cup of water and cook for 3 whistles.
Onion - 2
Tomatoes - if small 1, if big half of it
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Green Chillies - 2
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 -3 strings
Coconut Oil - 3 tbsp
1. In a pan, coconut oil and add ginger garlic paste, green chillies and saute till raw smell goes off.
2. Add sliced onions and saute till golden brown..
3. Add tomatoes and mix till tomatoes mashed up well.
4. Add all the spices and mix well in low flame.
5. Once the oil starts to separate, add the prepared squil along with its water.
6. Let it boil and lower the flame and let the water get absorbed.
7. You can off the flame when the required consistence of the gravy is attained. If need ti dry keept it for some time on the flame.
8. Add a little coconut oil, pepper powder and whole lots of curry leaves over it.
