Apple Cardamom Cake
Cardamom is that elusively fragrant spice associated with Indian and Scandinavian cooking. Cardamom gives an impulsive taste for many dishes and once i made this cake, the apple and cardamom together made it heaven. The recipe is adapted from beloved Jorenq, a Facebook group and the recipe courtesy Ms. Nasreen
Apple Cardamom Cake
Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking time: 50 minutes.
All Purpose Flour – 1 and ¼ cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Salt – a pinch
Cardamom Powder – 1tsp
Baking Powder – 1tsp
Milk – ¾ cup
Oil – 1/3 cup
Egg – 1
Apple -2 (peeled and slice thin)
For Topping
Butter – 5 and ½ tbsp.
Sugar – ½ cup
Egg -1
Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
1. In to a large bowl, sieve together AP Flour& baking
powder. Add Sugar and salt and mix well.
2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, oil & egg till mix
well, around 3 minutes.
3. Pour wet ingredients to dry mix, whisk well in between,
& Combine well.
4. Pour this batter to a greased tray.
5. Arrange the sliced apple over it.
6. Bake for 10 minutes.
For Topping:-
1. Whisk Butter & Sugar till Fluffy
2. Add egg and vanilla essence and whisk till well combined,
about 4 minutes.
3. After 10 minutes of baking as mentioned above, take the cake
out and spread the topping over evenly.
4. Put it back to the oven and bake for another 40 minutes or
till the done.
