Pepper Chicken



Pepper Chicken is one of the most common dish prepared in my kitchen. Pepper is a spice which myself and my husband loves having it in most of the dishes and we love the flavor and the smell of it.
This recipe is an easy one with all the goodness & flavor of pepper packed into the chicken and goes well with chapatis, rice and all kind of roti's.


Pepper Chicken
Preparation Time : 1 hour (including marination time)

Chicken - 500 g
Marination
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
Pepper Powder - 1 tbsp
Salt.
For Gravy:
Fennel Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Whole Pepper - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 handful
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
Onion - 2 (medium)
Tomato - 1 (medium)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder -1/4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Oil

1. Marinate Chicken with ingredients under marination and keep aside for 30 minutes.
2. In a pan heat 2 tbsp of Oil, add fennel seeds, whole pepper, let it splutter. Add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and green chillies. Saute little, add pepper powder and saute for a minute.
3. Add Onion, saute till translucent, add tomato and saute till combined well.
4. Add all the remaining spice powders and salt and saute till raw spell goes off.
Add marinated chicken to it, add 1 cup water(u can add more if need thin gravy) and cook on low - medium flame till done.

Note :-
If you need a dry pepper chicken, then cook the chicken in low flame without adding water. and finally once cooked and all excess water dried of , squeeze half of a lemon and a handful of coriander leave and mix well . A yummy and Flavorful DRY PEPPER CHICKEN is ready
